The Scientific Library of the University was founded in 1930.
For the present day the fund of the library consists of:
 1) more than 700 thousand exemplars of editions and unpublished documents. Among them there are:

• about 65 thousand exemplars in Ukrainian
• 608403 exemplars make up the book stock
• 80399 exemplars (1057 titles) of periodicals
• 13578 exemplars of theses

 2) about 8 thousand of electronic documents in the DB “Electronic Library”
     Subjects of the fund: computer engineering, information technologies, radio engineering, electronics, information security, telecommunication systems, communication networks, metrology and measuring equipment, etc. Besides the special scientific and technical literature the fund of the library includes the social-economical, humanitarian, belles-lettres and the books in foreign languages.
     Every year more than 30 thousand editions are purchased, more than 200 names of newspapers and magazines are subscribed.
     3 loan services, 4 traditional reading halls, the electronic reading halls serve the readers.
     The library serves more than 13 thousand readers and serves out about 500 thousand exemplars of books annually. About 1100 persons visit loan services and reading halls every day.
     The library is a member of the Association of Modern Information-Librarian Technologies (AMILT) and Librarian Association of Ukraine as well as a member of the municipal project of the Joint Catalog of Periodicals of the Kharkov Region Libraries.
